A 54-year-old man was killed Friday after his truck rolled on top of him while he was working on it.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. at a business in the 4500 block of North Patsy Drive. The victim was identified by the
Mohave County Sheriff's Office
as Kingman resident James Henry.
A security guard was patrolling the parking lot when he first noticed the white truck with its lights on and its engine running, according to Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.
Carter said that as the security guard got closer, he noticed a pair of legs sticking out from under the truck. The truck's tires were on top of the man, she said.
The guard tried to move the truck, but Henry's vehicle did not have a gearshift to put the vehicle into gear.
The guard then got out and pushed the vehicle off of him.
Henry was underneath his vehicle when the vehicle shifted into gear and ran him over, investigators concluded. He died at the scene. Carter said Henry had been inside the business just prior to the accident.
