Lambert appointed to Kingman superior court seat

Kingman Justice of the Peace Judge Richard Lambert will be Mohave County's newest superior court judge. Gov. Jan Brewer announced her appointment of Lambert on Friday morning. He will take the bench on April 1.
"With a background in both prosecutorial and judicial roles, Mr. Lambert is well-equipped for this judgeship," Brewer said. "Equally important, his passion for the law will be a tremendous asset to the bench and to the citizens of Mohave County."
Lambert has served for more than five years as a Kingman Justice of the Peace. He has also served as a Mohave County associate presiding limited jurisdiction court judge and Mohave County judge pro tempore since 2010. Previously, he worked for the
Mohave County Attorney's Office
from 2001 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2006 and at Coconino County Attorney's Office from 2003 to 2004.
He has lectured on misdemeanor and felony criminal procedure to Mohave County victim/witness advocates on a yearly basis. He's also made presentations on behalf of the Mohave County Bar Association and Mohave County Committee on judicial education and training, and has taught preliminary hearings during the orientation of new judges. Lambert is a merit badge counselor and committee member of a local Boy Scout troop in Kingman. He also serves as vice president of the Old Timer's Museum Board, and is heavily involved in volunteer projects through his church.
He's also served as a member of the Kingman Rotary Club, the Mohave County Domestic Violence Board and the Mohave County Child Fatality Review Board.
He graduated from the Creighton University School of Law and earned his bachelor of arts from Brigham Young University. He has been licensed to practice law in Arizona since 2001.
