Fire singes grocery truck in Kingman
6/18/2013 6:01:00 AM
Using a small extinguisher, an employee of Bashas' Grocery Store tries to suppress a fire Friday night under a trailer parked in the loading dock. The store had used the trailer for dry storage for about three years. Two engine companies from the Kingman Fire Department responded to the business at 3360 E. Andy Devine Ave. at about 7:30 p.m. According to Chris Weaver, a fire prevention specialist with the KFD, debris and weeds under the trailer caught fire. Crews used 250 gallons of water to fully contain the blaze. The tires on the right side of the trailer burned and the inside of the trailer sustained fire damage and significant smoke and heat damage. Damage was estimated at $5,000, and the cause was thought to be accidental.
