DOLAN SPRINGS - An 81-year-old Dolan Springs man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly hit a man and woman with a metal pole and threw rocks at the man.
Milorad Michael Markovich was taken into custody and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument after deputies responded to an assault call in the 18100 block of Salade Drive.
The alleged victims are a 50-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man.
The man said he was on his tractor grading the road when Markovich, his neighbor, started throwing rocks at him.
The man told deputies he witnessed Markovich walk over to the fence that separates the two properties and strike his wife with the pole. Then the alleged assailant hit him with it a couple of times when he attempted to take it away.
Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department personnel responded and treated both victims.
Deputies said Markovich admitted to striking the couple with the pipe because dirt and trash were dumped on his property, but he said he didn't hit them until one of the alleged victims threw rocks at him. It is unclear which neighbor he was talking about.
Deputies confiscated a four-foot pipe and took Markovich into custody without incident.
