Reward offered for Kingman arson suspect

Tamara Douglas

KINGMAN - A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of Tamara Dawn Douglas, 26, of Kingman, who is wanted in connection to an alleged arson.

Investigators with the Kingman Police Department seek Douglas for her alleged role in a June 11 fire at the Catch-N-Rayz hair and nail salon, 2325 Airway Ave. The business remains shuttered.

A felony criminal warrant for her arrest was issued on Aug. 12.

Police believe Douglas is actively avoiding arrest and a reward has been offered for information that leads to her apprehension.

Douglas has been charged with arson of an occupied structure, a class 4 felony.

In July, Douglas and her mother, Catch-N-Rayz owner Toni Nogales, told the Miner she was innocent and that the notoriety was ruining her business and her reputation.

"I'm a public person because I do hair," said Douglas at the time. "I've done hair for 10 years in this town and I've lived here for 20 years. People know me and this is ruining my reputation."

However, Deputy Police Chief Rusty Cooper said Douglas admitted her involvement in the predawn fire, which began in a utility room and spread to the attic before crews with the Kingman Fire Department arrived and kept it from spreading.

Charges were temporarily dropped in July when investigators neglected to file an arrest report and other documentation concerning the case within the statutory time period. They were re-filed, said Cooper, and Douglas has failed to respond to subsequent court summons sent to notify her of the charges she faces and a court date for an initial appearance.

A second suspect, Loretta Lyn Minor, 25, has attended her hearings, said Cooper, and is going through the system.
