Letter: Remember ALL the victims of terrorism
11/20/2013 6:00:00 AM
To those who cry "remember Benghazi," I say, why have you forgotten the others?
Beirut, April 18, 1983 - 63 dead; Kuwait, Dec. 12,1983 - six dead; Beirut, Sept. 20, 1984 - 24 dead; Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, Aug. 7, 1998 - 4,000 injured and 224 dead; Calcutta, Jan. 22, 2002 - five dead; Karachi, June 14, 2002 - 51 injured and12 dead; Tash Kent, June 30, 2004 - two dead; Jeddah, Dec. 6, 2004 - 10 injured and nine dead; Istanbul, July 9, 2008 - one injured and six dead; and San'a, Sept. 7, 2008 - 16 injured and 19 dead.
Where is the outrage over these deaths?
Where were the cries for justice?
Our embassies get attacked no matter which party is in the White House. But it is hypocrisy to only remember the one.
And worse, it does a disservice to those who were killed, as if their families' sacrifice was less.
Letter: Big problem, simple solution
Letter: Nothing's changed
Letter: Recycling hoops and the third degree
Column: Murders, mercy and unequal justice
Letter: A peace offering for Lori
