Kristen Suzanne Plank

Woman accused of child abuse

On June 19, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kristen Suzanne Plank, 38, of Kingman on felony charges of child abuse, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to a home in the 3100 block of Hearne Avenue regarding a code enforcement violation at about 9:30 a.m. A records check revealed a warrant and she was taken into custody without incident. Plank advised deputies that her two children, ages 5 and 6, were inside the home. Deputies said the home was "in shambles" and Child Safety and Family Services, formerly Child Protective Services, was called to the scene.

Plank reportedly told deputies there was marijuana in the home and they obtained a search warrant. In her bedroom, deputies allegedly found pot, numerous plastic bags containing white residue, five glass pipes with a burnt residue and a plastic bag containing a brown sticky residue. Many of the items were within the children's reach, according to sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Child Safety and Family Services employees took custody of the children and Plank was taken into custody without incident.

A little lost

On June 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested transient Beau Darryl Barrett, 32, on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, taking contraband into a corrections facility and a fugitive from justice warrant issued in Utah.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the area of Stockton Hill Road and Anchor Drive at about 1:10 p.m. Barrett was sitting under a bush on the side of Stockton Hill Road and told deputies that he "possibly got lost."

A record check revealed the Utah warrant and Barrett was taken into custody without incident. Methamphetamine and the associated paraphernalia were allegedly discovered during the booking process.

Way over the legal limit

On June 10, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Chany Sim, 26, of Kingman on a felony charge of aggravated DUI-driving on a suspended license.

Deputies stopped Sim in the 4000 block of Lum Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. for an unspecified reason. They reportedly smelled the odor of alcohol on Sims, who reportedly told deputies he drank a 40-ounce beer over the course of the evening.

Sims submitted to field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Sim allegedly registered a 0.216 blood alcohol concentration following an analysis at the sheriff's office. He was taken into custody without incident.

Paraphernalia

On June 15, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Preston Garrett Batts, 26, of Kingman on a felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor charges of false report to law enforcement and possession of marijuana.

Batts was a passenger in a car in which the driver was allegedly driving 48 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 3900 block of Castle Rock Road when deputies pulled her over a few minutes after noon. Batts allegedly gave deputies a fake name before revealing his true identity. A record check revealed the driver was wanted on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court and she was taken into custody without incident.

An inventory search of the vehicle revealed a backpack that allegedly contained a glass pipe with residue and the driver's wallet. A large gym bag allegedly contained a bag of marijuana, two syringes, a small spoon, a plastic bag containing a white residue and Batts' wallet. The driver was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. They were taken into custody without incident.

Drugs, warrants galore

On June 18, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kate Lynn Parsons, 21, and Dayna Shawnae Freeman, 23, both of Kingman.

Parsons was arrested on felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and six misdemeanor warrants issued by Kingman Justice Court, five of them for probation violation. Freeman was arrested on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Ryan Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. A records check revealed the warrants for Parsons' arrest. A search allegedly revealed a glass pipe with white residue in Parsons' purse and in Freeman's purse they allegedly found several syringes, a spoon with residue and a plastic bag containing a white substance. Both women were taken into custody without incident.

Lemons and meth

On June 19, Kingman Police officers arrested Robert Lemons, 50, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct with a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Andy Devine Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. Lemons, the driver, allegedly possessed methamphetamine and the associated paraphernalia, along with a firearm.

Two passengers were arrested on misdemeanor charges. All three were taken into custody without incident.

Paraphernalia

On June 18, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Alexander Ridge, 23, of Kingman, on two felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. A 53-year-old passenger was also arrested on two failure to appear misdemeanor warrants. Deputies conducted a traffic stop near Northern Avenue and Bank Street at about 2 p.m. A MVD check showed the vehicle's plates expired in May and a record check revealed the passenger's warrants. Ridge, according to deputies, acted nervous and he reportedly told them he had a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in his pocket. A search allegedly revealed the pipe and a straw. Ridge reportedly told deputies he uses the straw to "snort Vicodin." Both Ridge and his passenger were taken into custody without incident.
