KINGMAN - The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who was found burned and dead Monday.

He was reportedly laying face down in the dirt on the south side of Interstate 40 at DW Ranch Road when he was found around 7 a.m. There was a gas can nearby.

He also had puncture marks on the back of his body. The Sheriff's Office is treating the death as a homicide.

The man is black and believed to be in his mid-20's to mid-30's. He had a large cross tattoo on his chest with the words "the truth hurts" written underneath, according to Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.

She said the man had a short pencil beard and mustache, with the pencil beard starting at his sideburns and running down to his chin.

He was wearing a blue denim long-sleeved shirt with a large design on the back, black pants and black shiny dress shoes with laces.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office (928) 753-0753.
