11/26/2008 6:00:00 AM Public invited to free coffee
to discuss identity theft, fraud
KINGMAN - Identity theft and fraudulent schemes are becoming common news. Coffee at the College will deal with both issues Dec. 11 on Mohave Community College's Neal Campus-Kingman.
Sponsored by MCC's Community & Corporate Outreach program, Sgt. Rusty Cooper of the Kingman Police Department and MCC's Brandon Warner will speak on "Identity Theft and Fraud" from 6-7 p.m. in Room 200F of the Student Center, Building 200.
"Technology has made our lives much easier to handle transactions over the Internet, but it has also created a generation of cyber thieves," Warner said. "By learning how these individuals steal identities, we can better protect ourselves."
The event is free, refreshments will be served and seating is limited. Those who plan to attend should contact Warner's office at (928) 692-3027. For more on the Community & Corporate Outreach program, go online to www.mohave.edu.
