KINGMAN - The Mohave County Department of Public Health will begin offering H1N1 vaccinations today to adults with underlying medical conditions.
Previously, vaccinations through the Health Department were only offered to those considered highest at-risk, including children 6 months through 4 years of age, and those ages 5-18 with chronic medical conditions.
Beginning today, the priority groups listed below will be able to receive vaccination:
Individuals 25 through 64 years old who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza (asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, etc.)
Individuals 6 months through 24 years old
Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
Individuals who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
Pregnant women should contact their OB provider to determine if their doctor has received the vaccine and to schedule an appointment.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at 2601 Stockton Hill Road, Suite C.
The clinic will be closed the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Five adults with underlying conditions from the Kingman area who contracted the H1N1 virus have died since the swine flu hit Mohave County. Jennifer McNally, assistant director of the County Health Department, said the agency cannot disclose the conditions that those people suffered from, nor can the department give an age range for those five adults because of privacy concerns.
As of Friday, 259 cases of H1N1 have been confirmed in Mohave County, with 24 patients requiring hospitalization.

One plus one is 3
Now I understand why no one was there. Idiotic beliefs by the uneducated population of this town kept people away. If a national IQ survey was conducted, we would surely have the lowest!

Fast and easy
Terrific experience! I arrived about 10am, filled out a quick form, got my shot, and was there a total of 10 minutes. The cost was FREE too! No long lines, nothing like what`s been shown on TV. Thank you MCDPH, and the Miner for providing the information.
