Eleanore Joan Fanire-Lindquist
In loving memory of Eleanore Joan Fanire-Lindquist. It is hard to put into words the loss of a beautiful Angel from Kingman, whose journey ended on earth Nov. 1. Eleanore will be missed not just by her family and friends, but by so many others within our community. Eleanore offered a helping hand to anyone in need. She never expected anything in return; she was there when you needed her and was always reaching out to others.
Eleanore was very active in our community, where she sat on many boards and was also an active member for these organizations, to name a few: The Kingman Cancer Center, Senior Center, Kingman Resource Center and Billy's Place, which was named after her brother who preceded her in death.
Eleanore's biggest cause and for what she fought most passionately about was in her effort to get the Kingman area/Mohave County listed as victims of the Downwinders through the federal government's eyes. Over many years, Eleanore wrote letters with supportive evidence and appeared in front of Arizona senators, representatives and governors, and she even addressed this issue before Congress in Washington, D.C.; this is probably the only challenge that Eleanore couldn't get accomplished.
Eleanore received many special recognitions which include the award for Woman Making History Pioneer.
Eleanore was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 11, 1943, to Elmore and Johanna Logas; she passed away in Kingman on Nov. 1, 2009. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Alex Lindquist; her son, Ron Fanire (Regina); her granddaughter, Lauren Fanire; her great-grandson, Drake; her sister, Joany Legg (John); her brother, Bernard Dehl (Annie); stepdaughter, Liz Newstrom; and her grandsons, Shane, Trey Newstrom and David Anaya. Eleanore is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, plus 12 great-great nieces and nephews.
Those closest to her know that Eleanore was extremely close to her nieces, Bernice, Darlene, Diane and Peggy Lee Dehl, along with her nephews, Jack Legg and Bill Logas. Eleanore was preceded in her death by her parents, Buster and Johanna Logas, and her brother, Billy.
Eleanore's services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the LDS Church on Rutherford. If lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kingman Cancer Care and/or the Kingman Resource Center.

I am shocked at Eleanore's passing as I just ran into her recently. Her dedication and work for the Downwinders was astonishing along with all the other things she gave herself to.
She personally helped me with a great problem that I will never forget. She and her goodness will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to the family.
Rest in peace my friend.
